Torque Wrenches & Torque Tools
GEDORE Torque Tools in Oman
Accurate, Certified Torque Control for Critical Bolted Joints
Every bolted joint has a design torque for a reason. Too little, and vibration or thermal cycling loosens the joint, causing leaks, misalignment or failure. Too much, and bolts stretch beyond their yield point, threads strip and gaskets are crushed. GEDORE torque tools let your technicians apply the specified torque consistently. As the authorized GEDORE dealer in Oman, Teejan Equipment supplies them across Oman from our branches in Muscat, Sohar, Salalah and Misfah.
GEDORE Torque Tools Range
- Mechanical click-type torque wrenches: GEDORE’s DREMOMETER range is one of the most recognised torque wrench lines in industry. When the set torque is reached, the wrench releases with a clear click and feel, so the operator knows when to stop. Models are available with fixed square drives or with interchangeable insert tools such as ring, open-ended and ratchet heads.
- TORCOFLEX torque wrenches: A practical choice for workshops and service teams that need reliable everyday torque control.
- Electronic torque wrenches: Digital displays, audible and visual signals and, on selected models, angle measurement and data storage, which are useful where tightening values must be recorded for quality control.
- Torque screwdrivers: Controlled tightening of small fasteners in electrical terminals, control panels, instrumentation and electronics.
- Torque multipliers: For very high torque values on large flange bolts, heavy machinery and structural steel where a standard wrench is not practical.
- Torque testing equipment: For workshops and tool rooms that want to check their torque wrenches between formal calibrations.
How to Choose the Right Torque Wrench
- Torque range: Choose a wrench where your target torque falls in the middle to upper part of its scale. DIN EN ISO 6789 defines accuracy from 20% to 100% of the wrench’s maximum value, so avoid working near the very bottom of the range.
- Drive size: 1/4″” for light precision work, 3/8″” and 1/2″” for general automotive and maintenance tasks, and 3/4″” or 1″” for heavy vehicles, plant equipment and large bolts.
- Access: In tight spaces, a wrench with interchangeable insert tools or an open-ended or ring head may reach where a socket cannot.
- Documentation: If your client or QA system requires recorded torque values, an electronic wrench with data storage can save time and reduce paperwork errors.
- Mechanical or electronic: Mechanical click wrenches are robust and need no batteries. Electronic wrenches offer more information and traceability. Many teams in Oman use both.
Accuracy, Standards and Calibration
GEDORE torque wrenches are manufactured and tested in line with DIN EN ISO 6789, the international standard for hand torque tools. For typical click-type wrenches above 10 N·m, the permissible deviation is ±4%. The standard recommends recalibration after 5,000 load cycles or 12 months, whichever comes first, and immediately after the tool has been overloaded or dropped. In high-use environments such as shutdowns or busy fleet workshops, more frequent checks are good practice.
Torque Tool Care in Oman’s Climate
Heat, dust and humidity all affect precision tools. From our experience supporting customers across Oman, these simple habits extend tool life:
- Wind mechanical click wrenches back to their lowest scale value after use to relieve the spring.
- Store wrenches in their original case, away from direct sun and vehicle dashboards.
- Wipe off sand and dust before storage, especially from ratchet heads and adjustment mechanisms.
- Never use a torque wrench to loosen seized bolts or as a breaker bar.
- For electronic wrenches, remove batteries during long storage and avoid leaving them in hot vehicles.
